David L. Foy, 79, Rock Island, IL passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at his home under the care of Hospice, surrounded by his family. There will be visitation from 2-4:00 PM on Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to the family.

David was born on October 14, 1942 to Charles and Olive (Hoover) Foy in Davenport, IA. He grew up in Rock Island and graduated from Rock Island High School.

David worked at Eagle's for sixteen years, working his way up to store manager. He then drove truck for Holland Motor until his retirement in 2004.

On February 12, 1961 he was united in marriage to Shirley Engelkens at Nazarene Church in East Moline, IL. The couple made their home in Rock Island where they raised their two children. They were members of Southpark Presbyterian Church.

David was an avid bass fisherman who competed in tournaments for many years, winning several. He especially loved fishing at Apple Canyon Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; children, Penny K. Foy and Dana L. (Earl) Fuller; grandchildren, Morgan Othmer, Amanda Johnson, and Zachary Othmer; great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Peyton Rule; and Aubree Othmer; and siblings, Charlie Foy and Susan Vogele.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Judy Kneeland and Rebecca Foy.
