David W. Gibson, 67, of Moline, passed away at home, February 12, 2018. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 A. M. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the church, or to NAMI/Transitions of Rock Island/Mercer County.

David was born December 2, 1950, in Davenport, to Wilmot and H. Marie Gibson. He was a state gymnastic champion at Moline Sr. High, where he graduated in 1968. He studied architecture at Iowa State. David worked as a security guard for 16 years, and continued volunteering around the area for many organizations even after his retirement. He also worked as an election poll worker.  David especially enjoyed music, re-selling, and very spirited conversation.

David is survived by his brother Gary Gibson, Garibaldi, Or; sister, Jean (Milo) Knowles, Bettendorf; nephews Matt Gibson, Portland, Or; Russ (Rosemary) Gibson, West Des Moines; Sean Willis, Bettendorf; and Dennis (Marisol) Willis, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his Grandma Ruby Sorrels.
