David Paul Ipsen, 82, of East Moline, passed away Saturday August 30, 2025 at Mercy One Illini Campus, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Monday September 15, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors presented by the United States Navy. Memorials may be left to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities or Fisher House, Minneapolis, MN.
David was born on September 11, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Harry and Doris (Beguelin) Ipsen. He was a graduate of Greene High School. David was a United States Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam. He married Jackie S. Lord on November 20, 1976 in Milan and together they had 2 children, Kevin David (Mary) Ipsen of Taylor Ridge and Keri (Rick) Heald of Moline. David has 3 grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) MacDonald, Katie Ipsen and Blake Heald (Allison); 5 great grandchildren, Conner D., Landyn D., Hunter D., Dustin D. and Madison. He is also survived by his brothers William Bill Ipsen and Roger (Deb) Ipsen; sisters, Mary (Alan) Smith and Elaine (Bill) Beach all from Iowa.
David had been employed as the service manager for Hoes Trenchers, later worked for Zurcher Construction and most recently as a welder in the Quad Cities.
Dave and Jackie, loved wintering in South Texas, where they managed a campground for several years and spent summers at Loud Thunder Campground as host for 5 years. Both David and Jackie were founding members of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities, Moline and had previously attended Trinity Methodist Church, Milan.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Doris Ipsen of Greene, Iowa.
