David E. Ross, 61, of Silvis, passed away Sunday May 28, 2023 at St. Anthonys Nursing and Rehabilitation, Rock Island.

A gathering of family and friends will be 11:00am to 12:00pm Thursday June 1, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Inurnment will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery with Military Honors.

David was born on August 13, 1961 in Rock Island, the son of Robert and Bernice (Burgess) Ross. After his schooling he joined the United States Navy and served from 1980 to 1984.

Mr. Ross had been employed earlier on a hog farm and more recently with several factories, serving in several capacities.

David loved spending time with his family and grandkids, playing cards, working on cars and watching you tube car videos.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Jim and Paige Ross, Dubuque, Iowa; adopted daughters, Shelby Geerts, Davenport and Teryn Thomas; grandchildren, Sionna and Aleigha Griffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend, Doug Geerts.
