David Joe Rouse, 71, of Davenport, Iowa passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family January 10, 2025. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a private family service. His final resting place will be Rock Island Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island County Animal Shelter.

Dave was born in Rock Island on September 14, 1953 to Ethel Pearl Rouse.  He graduated from Rock Island High School. Dave worked for Case IH and was a member of Local UAW 1304. He retired from Case after 31 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rock Island and the Moose Lodge.

Dave was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards. Dave loved dogs and we know Scrappy and Buddy Joe were excited to welcome him home to heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne; son, Brent (Kelly) Rouse, Bettendorf, Iowa; stepdaughters Sarah (Scott) Roberts, Shorewood, Illinois; Elizabeth (Jason) Brown, Bettendorf, Iowa; and grandchildren, Mallory and Hayley Bowling, Leighton Burke, Savanah Rouse, Luke Brown and Emma, William and Annie Roberts; cousin, Joyce Desmet, Lake Placid, Florida; and last but not least his puppy, Teddy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Shug (Herman) Frye.
