David R. Rursch, 63, of Reynolds, passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 23, 2023 at his home.
Funeral services are 10:00am Tuesday March 28, 2023 at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-7:00pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Rockridge FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund or Andalusia Fire Protection District.
David was born on October 10, 1959 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Orville A. and Nancy L. (McGinnis) Rursch. He was a graduate of Rockridge High School.
Mr. Rursch had farmed in the Reynolds area all his life. He was also part owner of the Edgington Hardware store.
David was a member of Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Rockridge FFA Alumni and the Farm Bureau. He loved spending time at the farm and with his family. His true passion was being part of the Rursch Tractor Pulling Team and driving "The Survivor". He had been active with tractor pulling his entire adult life and belonged to several tractor pulling associations.
Survivors include his significant other, Shay Lemon; mother, Nancy Rursch; step son, Wade Lemon; step granddaughter, K'Lea Lemon; great granddaughter, Amiree; sister, Debbie Tomlin; nephews, Matthew (Elisabeth) Tomlin, Brandon (Wendy) Tomlin; great nieces and nephews, Lucas Bagwell, Lance Bagwell, Rayce Tomlin, Nataleigh Tomlin, Addyson Tomlin, Sophia Osborn, Wyatt Osborn, Jax Alderin, Ezra Gould; aunts, Dorothy Rursch, JoAnn Rursch, Denise Rursch, Lynne Clark, JoAnn Mier, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Rursch; uncles, Donnie Rursch, JR Rursch, Marvin Rursch, Duane (Barbara) Rursch, Clair (Shirley) Rursch; aunt, Lois (Nels) Anderson and cousin, Lara Grossman.
