David Earl Scott, 60, of Los Angeles, CA, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday December 19, 2017.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour before at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left in Davids memory to the family.

David was born October 18, 1957 in Rock Island, the son of Freddie Scott Sr. and Mertha M. Colvin Scott.

Mr. Scott had been employed with the Rock Island Arsenal before moving to California. Previously he had been employed with the Martin Luther King Center Summer Program.

David was a graduate of Rock Island High School in 1975 and later Southern Illinois University.

Mr. Scott loved spending time with his family, listening to music and playing Pac Man.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mertha Mentria, Rock Island; siblings, Penelope Scott, Rock Island, Gwendolyn Jackson, Houston, TX, Freddie Scott Jr., Manhattan, KS, Tony Scott, Baltimore, MD, Charles Scott, San Bernardino, CA.; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Freddie Scott Sr. and brother, Perry Scott.
