David Alan Strauch, age 68, of Moline, Illinois, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2026. Born on June 28, 1957, in Pontiac, Illinois, David was the son of Ginny (Briska) Strauch.
David was well-regarded in his professional life. His first career was spent as a camera operator at a local TV station in the Quad Cities. He then traveled the world as a videographer for a company based in Houston. Next, his interest in technology led him to work as a skilled website manager for Directory One, also based in Houston. His attention to detail was very much appreciated by his clients.
Beyond his work life, David enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His life included traveling, playing tennis, riding his bicycle and reading, especially works related to history. David was always willing to lend a hand to others by helping with many types of projects.
David is survived by his siblings, sister Susan (Dan Fitzgerald) Strauch and brother Alan (Susan) Strauch. He is also survived by his nieces, Sara (Tristan) Lee and Emilie (Kyle) Ruppert; his great niece, Morrigan Lee; and his great nephew, Torin Lee. David was preceded in death by his parents. In honor of David’s memory, donations may be given to the Pontiac Public Library (Memorials and Donations | Pontiac, IL - Official Website) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and no services will be held at this time. David will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and passions but also for his love and support for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and a love for those fortunate enough to have known him.
