David W. Wadsworth, 90, of Milan, passed away Saturday March 7, 2015 at his home.
Funeral services will 10:00am Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery. Memorials may be left for Milan Christian Food Pantry.
David was born on June 13, 1924 in Rural Township , the son of William D. and Lillie C. (Arp) Wadsworth. He married Fern Layer on March 22, 1952 in Church of Peace, Rock Island.
David and Fern worked on their farm until the mid 80's when he retired. He had also worked in construction.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milan and was a graduate of Sherrard High School in 1944.
David loved spending time with his family, camping, traveling, baseball, rodeos and his dog, Dusty.
He is survived by his wife, Fern; children, Teresa (Mike) Brown, Taylor Ridge, Greg (Betty) Wadsworth, Silvis, Kathy (Tom) May, Grayslake, Debbie (Scott) Leatherman, Mundelein; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and brother, William (Margret) Wadsworth Jr., Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ron and Larry Wadsworth; sister, Marjorie; brothers, Merle, Leverne and George Wadsworth.
