Deanna L. Fitzsimmons, 74, of Moline, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, February 13, 2021.  Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.  A private graveside service will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Deanna was born in Moline, Illinois on May 22, 1946, a daughter of Donald and Vanessa Overturf.

Deanna had a master's degree and worked about thirty years as a registered nurse as well as a nursing educator for UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island, formerly known as Franciscan Hospital.  She retired in 2007.

Deanna enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Michelle (Fred) Griffith, Daytona Beach, Fla. and Shawn (Jennifer) Ralston, Odenton, Maryland; grandchildren, Lindsay, Haley, Kaitlyn, Payton and Olivia; sister, Sandra (Gary) Withrow, Indianapolis, Ind.; and brother, Terry (Linda) Overturf, Milan, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, life partner, Vernon Brus and son, Troy Ralston.
