IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra Kay
Clemons
July 5, 1958 – December 3, 2024
Debra Kay Clemons, 66, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
Born on July 5, 1958, in Perks, Illinois, Debra was the daughter of Virgil Clemons and Marie Harrell.
Debra had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel loved. She always filled the room with laughter and quick-witted jokes. She found joy in weekend shopping trips, DIY crafts and painting, the comfort of a homecooked meal and creating precious memories with her family. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted member of Olivet Baptist Church in Rock Island.
As a natural storyteller, Debra had a gift of writing poetry, capturing moments of love, strength and resilience that reflected life and faith. Her words remain a lasting treasure, just like the memories she created with all who were blessed to know her.
Debra was a caregiver at the Arc of the Quad Cities, where she compassionately supported individuals with disabilities until her retirement.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved mother, Marie Harrell; children, Cory (Sandra) Clemons, Brandon (Joyce) Clemons, Ashley Clemons, Bryce Brooks; grandchildren, Raven, Cory Jr., Brandon Jr., Jayceon, Shia and Skylar Clemons; who were her pride and joy. She will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Anthony Clemons, Denise Scott, Angela Clemons, Michael Clemons, Gina Clemons and Greg Clemons; and very close friends, her aunt Janice Kaiser, Tonelia Slater and Jeanine Lopez; as well as countless extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
Debra will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Clemons; son, Jason Clemons; and grandchildren, Karmello and Elijah Clemons.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Olivet Baptist Church, 1115 21st Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the church.
A private burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
Memorials may be made in care of the family. Condolences may be shared with the family on the Tribute Wall.
