Debra “Debbie” Henry, 68, of Sherrard, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and passion for caring for children will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Born on July 20, 1958, in Moline, IL, Debbie was the beloved daughter of Roger and Jane (Hollars) Slaight. After the passing of her mother, she was lovingly raised by her father and his second wife, Elaine. Debbie's journey was beautifully intertwined with that of her childhood sweetheart, Delbert Henry, whom she married on November 5, 1977. Together, they built a loving family and embraced the joys of life.

Debbie's passion for working in childcare defined her life and brought joy to countless children and families. Her dedication extended beyond her profession; she was an active member of the Sherrard community, volunteering her time to help with various gatherings and fundraisers, always with a smile on her face. A devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, she enjoyed cheering for her team with unwavering enthusiasm.

Debbie will be remembered fondly by her children, Jayson (Steve Street) Henry, Joani (Timothy) Bellinger, and Jaynie (Reece Martin) Henry; her cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Sydnye, Clayton, and Lisa; and her loving brother, Troy Slaight, along with many other dear family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mothers, Jane and Elaine.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at the Sherrard Fire Station on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Sherrard Park. Condolences may be left at WheelanPressly.com.
