Obituary

Debra A. Tate, 54, of Reynolds, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at UnityPoint Health, Trinity - Rock Island, following a long battle with lung disease. Funeral services for Debbi will be held 10:00 am Saturday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Debra Ann Barnes was born on January 21, 1962 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Chicago, a daughter of Ira and Virginia Berry Barnes. She married Michael Tate on July 23, 1982 at First Christian Church, Moline. Deb worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. She had a passion for helping people in need.
Deb loved baking while listening to old country music and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Despite her illness, Debbi found the energy to complete various home improvements and household updating projects in which she took great pride.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mike; children, Ethan (Lydia) Tate, Dalton Tate and Traci Tate, all of Reynolds; grandchildren, Devon Tate, Hunter Tate and Waylon McMeekan; mother, Virginia Barnes, Braxton, MS; brother, Tom (Pat) Barnes, Plainfield, IL; sisters, Diana (Al) Forbes, Peachtree City, GA and Wanda (Mike) Dearing, Newton, MS; sister in law, Cheryl (Dave) Russell, Milan and mother in law, Joyce Sederquist, Rock Island and many other loving family members and second children.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Barnes and good friend, James "Bubba" Potter
The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Ade and Trinity, Rock Island MICU and Respiratory Therapy Staff for the special care given in Debbi's final days.
