May 5, 1992 – August 23, 2016
De'Mar De'Angelo Bester, 24, of Rock Island, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Tuesday at the Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family for an education fund to be established for De'Mar's children.
De'Mar was born May 5, 1992 in Rock Island, a son of Darrell Bester and Othea Gray. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 2010. De'Mar loved to cook and was employed at Fazoli's in Moline.
De'Mar was very spiritual and always put God first. He will be remembered for having a big heart and always smiling. He was a rapper, singer, writer and supported everyone's dreams. He was a great role model, uncle and leader to those who surrounded him. He loved his children and was very family oriented. De'Mar inspired those around him to be themselves because he was always himself. He was a great mediator in the midst of a storm.
De'Mar was a natural athlete and great at basketball, football and gymnastics. At an early age, De'Mar volunteered at an elderly home in Decatur, Ill. where he took care of Mrs. Beatrice Conner who passed at 108 years old.
Survivors include his children, De'Maris and De'Marlie Bester and Amarianah Parker; parents, Othea (Jesse) Stevenson and Darrell (Benita) Bester; siblings, Darwin and Sheena Gray and Rolando, Tevin, Logia, Adriana and Ashly Bester; a special grandmother, Luethel Gray; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Lavern Bester, Orrie Mc'Lemore and Chloe Scott, aunts, Carla Bester and Susie Gray, uncle, James Gray and cousins, Luether Gray Jr. and Willis Gray.
