Denise E. Gebel, age 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born November 2nd, 1963, to Eugene "Harry" and Elaine (Miller) Berry. She was a 1981 graduate of Canton High School, Messiah College 1986, and Black Hawk College 2013. She worked as a Recreational Therapist for many years and later became a Registered Nurse. She married Timothy Gebel on November 15th, 2015, on her family farm on the Spoon River.

Denise lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; tending to her beloved plants, listening to her favorite music, traveling, exercising, taking boat rides with her husband, and baking with her two daughters, Anne and Rachel. She brightened every room she entered, had the kindest heart and radiated love to everyone she met.

She is survived by her children, Anne (Eric) and Rachel (Zach), Kara (Eduardo), and Tyler (Charlotte); husband, Tim; siblings, David (Valerie), Dennis (Alex), and Deb (Eric); and many cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Family, friends, and all lives Denise has touched are invited to come to a celebration of life at The J Bar, 4215 Elmore Av. Davenport, IA, 52807 on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities or Ovarian Cancer Research.
