Denise M. Nelson, 60, of Milan, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Denise was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 10, 1957, a daughter of Richard and Elaine Hintz Pierce.  She married Wayne Nelson on July 3, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Denise enjoyed baking cakes, bowling and knitting.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Nelson, Milan; children (and spouses), Michelle (Bill) Feliksiak, LeClaire, Iowa, Jeff (Spring) Hunwardsen and Mike Hunwardsen, both of Davenport; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rance (Joli) Pierce, Renee (Jeff) Curler, both of Davenport and Nancy (Steve) Baumann, Manly, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
