Dennis C. Whicker Jr., 52, of Rock Island, passed away Friday February 2, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City. Services will be 11:00am Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family. Dennis was born on February 17, 1965 in Rock Island, the son of Dennis C. Whicker Sr. and Dianne Peasley. He married Tammara S. Britcher on October 22, 1988 in Moline. Dennis was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Whicker had been employed as a Sheriff's deputy and later a correctional officer with Rock Island County. He had also been employed with McGiverns Jewelry Store as a jeweler. Dennis had formerly been a member and trustee of the Fraternal order of Police District 12 and the Trio Lodge in Rock Island. Survivors include his wife, Tammy; children, Joshua Whicker, Amanda Whicker; granddaughter, Joshlynn; mother, Dianne Paulsgrove; step father, Lyle Paulsgrove; step mother, Mary Whicker; siblings, Patty Fisher, Tiffany (Tom) Sanborn, Todd Whicker, Jimmy (Val) Paulsgrove; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded by his father, Dennis Whicker Sr. in 2009.
