Dennis R. Waite, 70, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully at his home Monday January 5, 2015.
Funeral services will be 11:00am, Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island, with Military Honors by Moline American Legion Post 246.
Memorials may be left to Moline American Legion.

Dennis was born on July 1, 1944 in Rock Island, the son of James O. Waite Sr. and Elva M. Ross.
He married Barbara St. Clair in 1965 in Illinois. He later married Sharon Babinski.

Mr. Waite had been employed at John Deere Seeding as a heavy duty assembler for 44 years until his retirement.
Dennis was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed reading and puzzles.

Survivors include his son, Billy (Shalaina) Waite, Moline; dear friend, Barbara St. Clair, Moline; 2 grandchildren, Nichole Waite and Cassandra Knowles; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Maddison, Benjamin; sister, Norma Staefken, Moline and brother, James O. Waite Jr., Illinois City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy Hawley and brother, Ira J. Waite.
