Diane R. Gosney, 52, of Milan, IL, passed away Thursday, January 1,
2015 at her home.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6th, at Wheelan-Pressly
Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Diane was born August 3, 1962 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of
Richard Jones and JoAnn (Dean) Swank. She graduated from Sherrard High School,
Class of 1981. She married Mark Gosney, Sr. on August 16, 1980.
In addition to being a homemaker, Diane was a waitress in earlier
years for Bud's Skyline Inn and also at Pinnacle Country Club.
Her children and grandchildren were her life. She will be fondly
remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed sports and NASCAR. Her favorite drivers were Jimmy Johnson and Jeff Gordon. She was also an avid Green Bay PACKERS fan.
Those left to cherish her memory are Mark Gosney Sr. and their children (and spouses), Erica
(Andrew) Lopez and Mark (Shelby) Gosney, Jr., all of Moline;
grandchildren, Isaiah Malachy Lopez, Abram Mark Lopez, and Ava Grace
Gosney; mother and stepfather, JoAnn and Terry Swank, Moline; father,
Richard Jones, Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada; stepmother, Judy Jones,
Casper, WY; brothers, David Jones, Geneseo, and Steve Jones, Moline;
half-sister, Darcie (Craig) Achord, Sheridan, WY; stepsister, Victoria
(Joey) Lastinger, LeClaire, IA; stepbrother, Brenton Swank, Lake Worth
Corridor, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and additional relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
