Diane K. Peterson, 77, of Milan, Illinois, peacefully left this world on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Diane was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose generous spirit and loving heart touched the lives of all who knew her. A funeral celebrating Diane's life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation rites will be conducted, honoring Diane's wishes. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the Parkinson's Foundation. Born on August 10, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa, Diane was a cherished daughter of Don and Ella Middagh McGinnis. She and her devoted husband, Gary Peterson, united in marriage on September 19, 1965, at Reynolds United Methodist Church. Gary preceded her in death on December 5, 2016. As a dedicated homemaker, Diane created a warm and loving home for her family. She was a proud member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church and had a passion for adventure, often found indulging in her favorite pastime of shopping. Diane leaves behind a loving legacy, including her children, Torri (Sean) Randolph of Matherville, Illinois; Todd (Sashel) Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Tessa (Rob) Workman of Rochelle, Illinois. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Alisa, Tarran (Lauren), Taegan (Ryan), Tatum (Jesse), Avery, Isabella, Jace, Mark, Cale, and Bane; her great-grandchildren, Addi and Bowen; her brother, Tom McGinnis of Illinois City, Illinois; and her loyal canine companion, Cubby. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her beloved grandson, Logan Pearson.
