Diann Carran, 82, of Sherrard, passed away Monday January 9, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be 1:00-5:00pm Wednesday January 18, 2023 at Bally's Quad Cities, 777 Bally Blvd, Rock Island, IL. Private family graveside services will be held in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Sherrard Public Library District or Wounded Warriors Project. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Diann was born on August 3, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Jeske) Kuhagen. She married John A. Carran after meeting at the University of Wisconsin on December 22, 1962.

Diann had been employed for over 20 years with the Department of Defense on the Rock Island Arsenal as a quality assurance specialist. Previously she had worked for the Sherrard School District, teaching English at Sherrard High School.

Diann was a member of the Sherrard Public Library Board, Fyre Lake Sportsman Club and had sponsored the Sherrard High School Chess Team. She loved spending time with her family, reading, traveling and wintering in Southern California with family.

Survivors include her loving husband, John; children, Jack (Janet) Carran, Mike Carran; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren with two more on the way; sister, Joan Quitzow; many nieces, nephews and large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
