Diann E. Sager, 77, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 16, 2025 after a 40 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Diann, a shining example of warmth and creativity, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial visitation will be held in Diann's honor on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Island. Family and friends are also invited to join for a celebration of Diann's life on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Riverfront Grille, 4619 34th St, Rock Island. Private inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of the family to support local MS charities.

Diann was born on June 7, 1948 in Ashley, North Dakota, a daughter of Ernest and Emma (Kauk) Kautz. She married Robert "Bob" D. Sager on October 21, 1978 and they enjoyed over 46 years together. Diann was a talented ceramics teacher. She taught at Susie's Ceramic Nook in Milan for many years, before continuing to teach out of her home.

Diann's hobbies included reading, shopping, collecting birdhouses, watching westerns and decorating her home for every occasion. Her greatest joy came from spending time with the grandkids and keeping up with all their activities.

Those left to cherish Diann's memory include her husband, Bob Sager; children, Dion Hild, DeAnn (Mike) Bell, Tracie Carls (James Tinney), Bo (Tanya) Sager, and Jim (Dawn) Sager; grandchildren, Rowen and Vaughn Hild, Brinn Bell, Lauren (Jake) Ellis, Ethan and Lily Carls, Katelyn and Bryan Sager, Zander Sager and Elijah Gustafson; great-grandson, Bentley Bell; siblings, Arlene West and Walter Kautz; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Diann was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margie Dunker and Marvin Kautz; and infant brothers, Curtis and Wallace Kautz.
