IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dianna M
Ford
February 15, 1948 – January 4, 2023
Dianna M. Ford, 74, of Rock Island, peacefully passed away on January 4, 2023, at her home.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 13 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials can be made to the family to be designated later.
Dianna was born on February 15, 1948 to Kenneth J. and Patricia A. (Dumas) Stimpson in Rock Island, Illinois. She attended St. Joseph's school in Rock Island and was a 1966 graduate of Alleman High School. She very much loved being an Alleman Pioneer.
After high school, she went to beauty school. She spent many years making people feel beautiful operating her own salon out of her home.
She married Thomas C. Ford on September 6, 1969. Of that union, they had a daughter, Erica, born July 22, 1971, in Colorado. They divorced and Dianna centered her world around caring for her daughter by surrounding her with love from family and friends.
Dianna retired her beauty shop and went on to work at JC Penny's and Hy-Vee floral shop in Rock Island. She loved shoes, calligraphy, sketching, dancing, collecting dolls and camping. Her best memories were getting together with friends, planning class reunions, traveling to the Holy Land, and watching her daughter and granddaughters perform on stage. She was their biggest fan. She had an infectious laugh that everyone who holds her dear will remember.
Dianna was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother, Patricia. She is survived by her daughter, Erica (Joel) Davidson, Maquoketa; father, Kenneth Stimpson, Moline; grandchildren, Cassidy Morris, Ames, and Alana Barker, Maquoketa; brothers, Douglas (Mary) Stimpson, Bettendorf, and David (Patti) Stimpson, Coal Valley; her aunt Mary Kay (Robert) Ryan, Aledo; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a grand dog, Winnie.
