March 29, 1940 – March 11, 2016
Dianne J. Cole, 75, of Silvis, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery, Port Byron. Memorials may be made in care of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan.
Dianne was born March 29, 1940 in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of Donald and Rose Marie Eipper Dunn. She attended Port Byron High School and then graduated from Riverdale High School, Port Byron in 1958. Dianne attended Humboldt Institute, Minneapolis, Minn. and began working in Washington DC at the Department of Navy Bureau Ordnance. She married her high school sweetheart, and love of her life, Larry Cole on February 18, 1961 in Port Byron, Ill.
Dianne also attended Sawyer Business School in Davenport, Iowa. Her places of employment included, John Deere Intercontinental LTD., Moline, McFarland Budelier Insurance Agency, Rock Island as a casualty/claims underwriter for American States Insurance Company. In addition, she worked at Turner-Vermost Insurance Agency, Moline and Genesis Continuing Care, Davenport.
She had the most beautiful baby blue eyes and a smile that would make everyone feel warm and welcome. Dianne loved Jesus and her family very much. She loved to watch college basketball and Jeopardy on t.v. In addition, she enjoyed cross-word puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Cole, Silvis; children, Lori (Brad) Thomas, Colona, Ill., Leslie (Tim) Truman, Woodstock, Ill. and Lynette (Jeff) Harland, Moline; nine-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Rose Marie Dunn, Moline; sisters, Donna Vermeulen, Port Byron, Denise Tyler, Davenport and Darcene Sutton, East Moline.
Dianne was preceded in death by her father and baby sister.
