Domenic G. Guzzo, 61, of Rock Island, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his home.
A Memorial Mass will be 10 am Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7pm Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alumni Fund of Alleman High School, or to the Putnam Museum, Davenport.
Domenic was born April 16, 1955 in Moline, a son of Joseph and Joan Griesbaum Guzzo.
He graduated from Alleman High School in 1973 and attended Black Hawk College. Domenic had owned and operated Guzzo's Radiator Repair in Davenport and later was in insurance sales with the Knight of Columbus and most recently served as maintenance manager at the Putnam Museum.
Domenic was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island and former member and past Grand Knight of the Allouez Council 658 Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Quad City Parrot Head Club. Domenic loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing and visiting the National Parks.
Survivors include his children, Leah Guzzo, Brookfield, Wis., Anthony (Chelsea) Guzzo, Traverse City, Mich., and Brenna (Jared) Wuerzburger, Terre Haute, Ind.; grandchildren, Vincent Hahn, Emeline Guzzo, Samuel Guzzo, and Catherine Guzzo; his parents, Joseph and Joan Guzzo, Moline; brothers, Joseph (Mary Beth) Guzzo Jr., Geneva, Ill., and Jack (Kimbra) Guzzo, Davenport; and sisters, Julie (Doug) Renkes, Dassel, Minn., and Jana (J.C.) Gosa, Port Byron.
