Don C. Rowe, 78, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or Hope Creek Care Center.

Don was born April 22, 1937 in Sherrard, the son of Harry and Dollie (Bayles) Rowe. He married Delores Hutchens on March 9, 1957 in Illinois. Don worked for the city of Rock Island as a street sweeper for over forty years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and reading his bible. Don was a member of the Rock Island Elks Club and Lyons Club.

Don is survived by his two sons, Donald Rowe, Houston, TX and Greggory (Beverly) Rowe, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jamie (Scott) Schappaugh, Hannibal, MO, DJ Rowe, Milan, Melissa Rowe, Coal Valley, Brandon Rowe, Milan, Ryan (Justine) Rowe, Rock Island, Michael (Heather) Rowe, Moline, Jenna Rowe, Bettendorf, and Adam Rowe, Moline; nine great grandchilren; and sister, Nancy Williamson, Andalusia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents; sister, Odetta Spalding; and brothers, Marion, Junior, and Richard Rowe.
