Donald G. Carlstedt, 96, of Rock Island, formerly of Batavia, Ill., passed away Friday October 29, 2021 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

A private memorial service will be held, friends may watch the service via livestream at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream, at 1:00 pm Friday, November 5, 2021.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Batavia West Side Cemetery, Batavia, IL.  Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor, Rock Island in Don's memory.

Don was born on April 2, 1925 in Batavia, IL, the son of Eskil S. and Anna Marie (Olsson) Carlstedt.  Don graduated from Batavia High School in 1943.  He married his high school sweetheart, Pauline Johnson, on May 24, 1947 in Batavia.  Don worked as a printer/salesman for Roto-color and APSCO.  He proudly joined the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII.  Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and also a member of the Moose Lodge #682 in Batavia.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf, and going camping at Devil's Lake, WI.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline, Rock Island; children, Connie (Dave) Coene, Moline, IL, Barbara (Bill) Wyllie, Hendersonville, NC, Thomas (Janet) Carlstedt, Eagle River, WI, and Robert (Marilyn) Carlstedt, Rochester Hills, MI; nephew, Peter (Ann) Carlstedt, Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Harold, John and Theodore Carlstedt; and daughter-in-law, Laura Carlstedt.
