Donald "Don" Carter, 60, of Rock Island, passed away, May 21, 2023, at UnityPoint Health–Trinity, Rock Island.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be 5pm-7pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Don was born on May 1, 1963, in Geneseo, the son of Frank Carter and Sharon Bryant Carter. He married Heidi on April 28, 2023, in Rock Island. Don worked for Prime Construction as a carpenter. He was a member of the Mid-American Carpenters Local 4 and the Rock Island Conservation club. Don loved to work with hands. He enjoyed watching sports. He loved fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Heidi; father, Frank and his wife Faith; siblings, Alan Carter and Lara (Aaron) Ames; mother-in-law, Bonnie Dunsmoor; sisters-in-law, Dawn (John) Billington, Bridget (Calvin) Kelso, Heather (Joe) Gomez; many nieces and nephews; and his work family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon.
