Donald J. "Donnie" Johnston, 45, of Colona, passed away on July 18, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Following visitation; cremation rites will be accorded. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of the ARC of the Quad Cities or the Rock Island County Animal Shelter.

Donald John Johnston was born on May 5, 1969 in Moline, a son of Donald E. and Debra Starkweather Johnston. Donnie worked for the City of Moline for over 20 years, primarily in the Sanitation Department. He married Yvonne Minnaert and they later divorced. Donnie loved going to Rock concerts and working in his garage. He owned several properties in Colona and enjoyed maintaining them.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Donald (Pat Veronda) Johnston of Moline and Debra Johnston of Moline; a brother, Jasen Johnston of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Irene Johnston and Galen and Geraldine Starkweather.
