Donald V. Garrett, age 78, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Aledo Rehabilitation Center in Aledo Illinois.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 – 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorials may be made to Chapel Grove Cemetery.

Donald was born October 7, 1939 in Rock Island to Carroll V. and Hazel A (Martin) Garrett. He is a 1957 graduate of Rock Island High School. He was a lifelong resident of Rock Island.

Donald worked for the John Deere, Plow and Planter Division in Moline, where he retired. His interests included working on cars, motor-cross, road rallies, and photography.

Surviving is a cousin, Edward Garrett of Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents.
