Donald E. Hargrave , 93, of Coyne Center, IL, passed away Sunday January 31, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan (a recording of Donald's service may be viewed following services on his obituary page at wheelanpressly.com), with visitation one hour prior to services. Private burial, with military honors presented by Milan American Legion Post 569, will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or March of Dimes.

Donald was born January 8, 1928 in Flora, IL, a son of Clarence and Eva (Lewis) Hargrave. He married Marilyn "Lynn" P. Boyd on February 4, 1951 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2017.

Donald was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal for 39 years, retiring as Division Chief of Transportation.

He was a member of Community of Christ Church, Moline, Milan American Legion Post 569, and charter member and past chief of Coyne Center Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing in earlier years, and flying radio controlled airplanes.

His favorite times were those spent with family and friends. He enjoyed recording videos of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Thomas E. Hargrave, Glendale, AZ, Roger E. (Dea) Hargrave, Milan, and T.J. Hargrave, Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Tina Wallace, Jessica Hart, Erin (Brad) Bannerman, Heather (John) Doerr, Chad Hargrave and Maggie (Richard) Olsen; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Deborah Lynn Hargrave; brother, Robert Hargrave; and sisters, Betty Lou Jackson and Harriet Bealer.
