Donald L. Smith, 81, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at his home. A memorial visitation will be Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Donald was born on March 20, 1942, in New York City, a son of Quentin and Alice (Lawson) Smith. He married Theresa Czerwinski on June 11, 1977, in Rock Island. Don worked as an insurance agent for Prudential and United Health Care. He and his wife, Theresa previously owned and operated Mister Donut in Moline and East Moline, and The Convenient Store, Moline. Don was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa; son, Kyle (Andrea) Smith, Cedar Lake, Indiana; stepsons, Matthew (Ericka) Czerwinski, Geneseo, and Mark (Ronda) Czerwinski, Oskaloosa, IA; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and a brother, Peter Smith, Scarsdale, New York.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Quentin Smith.
