Donald W. Martens, 88, passed away May 21, 2022 in Rock Island, IL.

Donald was born in Postville, IA to John and Florence (Topel) Martens. Donald grew up in Ossian, IA. He graduated from Ossian High School and married Constance "Connie" Ward. Donald served in the National Guard and worked for the Cedar Rapids Gazette and the Rock Island Argus. He was a member of the American Legion, Jaycee's, Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and the Rock Island Fishing Club.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Martens; sister, Joan Kleppe; brother-in-law, Robert A. (Diane) Ward; nephews, Ron (Donna) Nesvik, Randy (Joyce) Nesvik, Ricky (Marsha) Nesvik, Russ (John) Nesvik, Gale Kleppe, Gary (Debbie) Kleppe, and Chris Ward; nieces, Viky (Max) McNeil, Valorie Marr, and Janeen Justice; and many great nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family burial. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
