Donald A. McGill, 90, of Moline, passed away Friday October 2, 2015 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be left to Organ, Heart and Lung Transplant Center, University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.
Donald was born on September 16, 1925 in Knox County, the son of Grant and Mary (Peel) McGill. He married Jacqueline Dierickx on October 13, 1951 at First United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Donald was a World War II Army Air Corps. Veteran.
Mr. McGill was employed at John Deere Plow Planter and John Deere Industrial for 21 years, retiring in 1984 as Senior Methods Engineer.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, fishing and nature.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline; daughter, Cathy McGill, Moline; son, Ronald (Amy) McGill, Blue Grass, IA.; grandchildren, Alexander McGill and Abby (Jeff) Less; and was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild in November.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Grant McGill Jr. and Allen Keith McGill.
