Donald G. Samier, 86, of Milan, passed away Sunday October 3, 2021 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

Services will be 11:00am Friday October 8, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

He was born on October 17, 1934 in Rock Island, the son of Henri and Lauretta (Stagner) Samier. Donald married Barbara Fischer on September 18, 1954 in Rock Island. She preceded him in 2004. He later married Wanda Chance on June 18, 2005 in Milan.

Donald had been employed by Moline Parks Board, Rock Island Register and Bridge and Iron Works.

He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island and formerly attended the First United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Donald loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting pheasants and watching western movies.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; sons, Donald Samier and Henri Samier; sister, Michelle Buchholz; step children, Richard Chance, Michele Tates, Michael Chance, Daniel Chance, Kim Chance, Brandy Rhodes; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; son, Michael; parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
