Donald L. Short, 84, of Milan, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Donald was born on October 6, 1936 in Joy, Illinois, a son of William and Annis (Whitaker) Short.

He married Patricia David on May 4, 1956 in Joy, Illinois. Mr. Short was a truck driver for Dimock Gould and Co., Moline. He later worked for Mills Chevrolet.

He enjoyed fishing and stock cars. Mr. Short was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Jordan and Lauren Borkhardt; son in law, Jerry Borkhardt; siblings, Delores Willits and Melvin Short.

Donald was preceded in death by his, parents; and a daughter, Roxanne Borkhardt.
