Donavin E. Sharp, 90, of Milan, died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  Services will be 11 am Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Donavin was born in Rock Island County on August 2, 1931, the son of Eugene and Eva Anderson Sharp.  He married Joanne Veronda on April 28, 1951 in Rock Island.

Donavin was a machinist for JI Case for 30 years.  He also owned Sharp's Used Car Lot in Milan where he worked with his father for many years.

Donavin was a creative man.  He enjoyed camping and often times you could find him in a garage working on and tinkering with cars.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Joanne Sharp; daughters, Pamela Gaylor, Milan, Lori (Nick Skoulaxenos) Sharp, Rock Island, Patti (Mark) Layer, Taylor Ridge, Susie (Terry) Helmers, Rock Island and Roxanne (Frank) Sharp-Rodjius, Mokena, Ill.; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
