Donna R. Carmichael, 76, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, formerly Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Foster G. McGaw Hospital-Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois. Additional visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Bates Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a memorial donation in Donna's name please direct it to QC Paws (Rock Island County Animal Care and Control Center).

Donna was born October 31, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Albert and Lois Marie (Baker) Hoover. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1964. Donna married Gary Carmichael on February 1, 1974, in Oskaloosa. She retired in 2004 as a systems analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal. Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Donna's memory include her husband, Gary; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Carl Moore; step-son, Robert (Gina) Carmichael; grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Jake, and Jason; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Mitrisin; and many loved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Howard Vos; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Hoover; brother-in-law, George Mitrisin Jr.; step-son, Richard Carmichael; and grandson, Coy.
