Donna M. Danay, 87, of Rock Island, IL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at Park Vista, East Moline, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. A Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m.  Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation following from 1:30 pm. to 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alleman High School or the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Donna was born October 4, 1930 in Linby, Iowa, the daughter of Averel and Ruth Linder Mowery. She married Daniel D. Danay, Sr. on October 15, 1949 in Moline, IL. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1996.

In earlier years, Donna worked at the former Montgomery Ward, Black Hawk College Food Service, and Rock Island Township.

Donna was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island; the Ladies Sodality of Sacred Heart, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Rock Island Moose Chapter 168, Friend's Circle Club, East End Club, and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid Chicago Cub's fan and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bowling and rolle bolle.

Surviving are her children (and spouses), Rosemary (Roger) Case, Milan, IL, Shirley Bjurstrom, Moline, Donna (Robert) Strabley, Rock Island, Daniel (Dana) Danay, Jr., Moline and Michael (Trina) Danay, North Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Sheila (Tom) Griser, Robert (Jen) Strabley II, Julie Smith, Jody (Bill) Marquis, Amy (Tom) Guenther, Heather Danay, Crystal Danay, Tristin Danay and Tiffany Danay; great grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Griser, Olivia and Devin Marquis, and Elizabeth, Malissa and Danielle Guenther; brothers, Richard Mowery, Rock Island and Roy (Betty) Mowery, Rock Island; and sisters-in-law, Willadean Danay, Muscatine, IA and Mary Davis, Davenport, IA.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Charles, Robert, and Earl Mowery.
