Kevin L. Freese, 58, and Donna V. Freese, 57, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at their home. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2136 Brady St., Davenport. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the church. Burial is at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation or to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Kevin was born March 23, 1958 in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Theodore D. and Bernice A. Brunscheen Freese. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was currently the chief financial operating officer at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Davenport. He previously served in a similar capacity with Trissel Graham and Toole Co., Davenport. Prior to moving to Davenport, Kevin had worked as an accountant with several accounting firms in Des Moines. He also had served on the finance committee at St. Paul's. Donna was born Feb. 14, 1959 in Davenport, a daughter of William R. and Clella V. Floyd Gamble. Donna was the president of Freese Benefits Inc., Davenport, which specializes in benefits and human resources. She especially loved working for Aflac, where she could help others in need. Together, Kevin and Donna fulfilled their passion by creating Freese Holdings. The couple married on June 25, 1988 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. Both Donna and Kevin were involved in the life of the community. The couple were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, where Donna had participated in mission work trips to Appalachia. Donna and Kevin were active members and volunteers with The Chamber Commerce and other non-profits including the Make-A Wish Foundation, March of Dimes, King's Harvest Homeless Shelter, CASI and Festival of Trees. Donna and Kevin made popcorn and movies possible for the King's Harvest Homeless patrons. Kevin has also been a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello and enjoyed helping with Cub Scouts and coaching soccer. The family enjoyed boating, camping and hiking. Donna also liked to do crafts, which led to the creation of Hearts of Quad Cities. Survivors include their children, Cory Gamble (Victoria Willers), Bettendorf, Ashley Freese, Broomfield, Colo., and Sean Freese, Davenport; Kevin's sister, Vicki (Larry) Pavelec, Readlyn, Iowa; Donna's siblings, Billy Gamble, Davenport, Paula (Scott) King, Davenport, and Dennis (Patty) Gamble, Davenport; nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends. They were both preceded in death by their parents; and several of Donna's brothers and sisters. Online condolences may be left at wheelanpressly.com
