Donna J. Friend, 77, of Silvis, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Aspen Rehabilitation and Health Center, Silvis.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at The Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Donna was born on June 6, 1939 in Manito, IL, the daughter of Alexander and Hilda (Neubauer) Hilts.  She taught adults at OCI and also was the activity director at Comfort Harbor Home, Milan.  Donna enjoyed attending church, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Destiny Baptist Church of Christ Inc., Rock Island.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Hilda (Kurt) Kinkade; and grandchildren, Logan, Wyatt, Emily, and Evan.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Schneider; and sisters, Delores Jump and Marilyn Sutton.
