Dora was born in Moline on January 8, 1922, a daughter of John and Albertha Carrington Brasmer. She married her love John Liphardt on September 27, 1942. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2014.
Dora had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting an ice cream shop in Milan at the age of 18. Which is also how she met her husband, John. Dora ran her own beauty shop called, Lin-Mar-De for twenty plus years. She later worked ten years for H&R Block preparing taxes. Dora was a member of the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed square dancing across the country with John and with the "Roll-A-Ways" square dance club. After retiring from her beauty shop, Dora and John started packing the RV and wintering in Texas. Dora enjoyed seeing the sites and was happy to say she had been to all 50 states and Australia. As a caring and generous spirit, Dora was always willing to give you the shirt of her back to help. When she flashed her big smile, it would make everyone in the room smile. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Duward) Inch, Milan, Marilyn (Bill) Reimer, Johnsburg, Ill. and Debra (Scott) Crowl, Milan; grandchildren, Becky (David) Pilger, John Casey (Pam) Inch, Josh Inch, Jeff (Jenn) Reimer, Christina Crowl and Andrea (Greg) Doi; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nate, Riley, Cole and Samantha
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and grandson, John Reimer.
The family wants to extend a special thanks to the staff at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.
