Doreen F. Palmer, 56 of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.

A memorial gathering celebrating Doreen's life will be Noon, Saturday at the East End Bolders Club, Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Doreen Solomon was born Jan. 9, 1959 in Rock Island, a daughter of Franklin and Audrey Pomeroy Solomon. She married Richard Engels Sr., and later married Theodore "Teddy" Palmer, who preceded her in death in 2007. She was self-employed as a housekeeper.

She enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, but most importantly, Doreen loved her family and the times they spent together.

Survivors include her mother, Audrey Solomon, Rock Island; children, Michael (Rebecca) Solomon, East Moline, Richard (Madelaina) Engels Jr., Rock Island, Shane (Jamie) Engels, Rock Island, Bobby Joe Engels, Rock Island, and Bonnie M. Engels, Moline; stepchildren, T.J. Palmer, of Missouri, and Amy (Troy) Malmstrom, Silvis; many grandchildren; and her sister, Mary L. Quinn, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Teddy; and sister, Kathy Herberts.
