Doris I. Chandler, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday April 1, 2014 at her home.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Doris was born February 16, 1921 in Lucas, IA, a daughter of Wilbert "Sam" and Beneta J. (Storm) Skinner. She married Lewis E. Chandler on February 23, 1939 in Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1970.

Prior to her retirement, was employed at Davenport Packing for over 30 years. She was a member of U.F.C.W., Local 431, Davenport, and the Ladies of the Moose, Rock Island.

She enjoyed playing euchre.

Surviving are her children (and spouses), Chuck (Nancy) Chandler, Roger (Judy) Chandler, Jeff (Mary) Chandler, Linda (Jesse) Tompkins, and Nellie (Butch) Penney; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Richard, Ronnie, Gary, Sam, and Harold Chandler, daughter, Edith Joan Chandler-Palmer, three brothers, and nine sisters.
