Doris M. Rogers, 85, of Milan, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the Coyne Center Fire Department.

Doris was born in Moline on June 6, 1930, a daughter of Guy and Hattie B. Tipple Carter.

Doris graduated from Rock Island High School. She married Rex Robert Rogers on September 2, 1950 in Milan. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2005.

Doris was a life member and past president of the Milan American Legion Post 569. She also belonged to the Rock Island VFW Post 1303, the Svithoid Club, Moline, the Friends Circle, AARP, the Viking Club, Moline and was a past board member of the Rock Island Boat Club.

Doris was an avid flower gardener. She also enjoyed fishing and boating.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rex L. (Sandy) Rogers, Geneseo; grandson, Scott Rogers, East Moline; granddaughter, Stacey Wiltermood, Colchester, Ill.; great-grandson, Avan Wiltermood; brother, Guy Carter, Silvis; sister, Patsy (Darrel) Bognar, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Donald and Cecil and sister-in-law, Joyce Carter.
