Dorothy L. Gerleman, 86, of Reynolds, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 23, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with a rosary to be recited at 1:00 pm. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Dorothy was born on August 18, 1937 in Edina, Missouri, a daughter of Bernard and Twila (McGraw) Rourke. She married Charles C. Gerleman on October 8, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Dorothy spent most of her life as a homemaker, staying home to help raise their six children. She also worked as a receptionist and insurance clerk at Gerleman Chiropractic in Milan for many years.

Dorothy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the St. Mary's Alter and Rosary Society.

Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory include her husband, Dr. Charles C. Gerleman; children, Dr. Teresa (Dr. Eugene) Peck, Dr. Diane (Andrew) Baldwin, Dr. Dennis (Jeanette) Gerleman, Dr. Patricia Basala, Donna (Rodney) Adams and Dr. Mark (Dr. Jennifer) Gerleman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ben Rourke.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; son in law, Kevin Basala; and siblings, Charles Rourke, Kenneth Rourke, Betty Teal and Jerry Rourke.
