Well done our faithful servant. Sister Dorothy Grandberry, 70, of Rock Island, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Grandberry will be 11 am, Monday at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am, Monday at the church. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Dorothy worked in the nursing field for many years. She was united in marriage to Cleo Grandberry Sr. Dorothy was born on April 2, 1947 to the Zach and Bessie Thompson from Eads, TN. Dorothy loved her family and was a faithful servant of the Lord. She served on the health unit and on the usher board of Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Felica Howard, Aurora, Marian Grandberry, Rock Island, Cleo Grandberry Jr, Indianapolis, Dashawndric (Shawna) Grandberry, Colorado Springs, CO., Larry Hunter Rock Island; brother Lynn Hester, Rock Island; sister, Anna Morris, Atoka, TN., aunt, Willie A. Bradley, St. Louis; nine grandchildren; one great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Sr; sister, Issie Grandberry; children, Mary and Joseph Grandberry; her parents; a brother, Odell Hester. Rest on our Queen.
