Dorothy I. McCorkle, 99, of Milan, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, Milan. Visitation will start at 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dorothy was born June 21, 1915, in Cloquet, MN, the daughter of Elbert "Bert" and Ruth (Mallory) Darwin. She married Wilmer "Bud" McCorkle on August 28, 1937, in Rock Island. Dorothy was employed as a clerk at various dry cleaners in Rock Island. She enjoyed roller skating, ice skating, gardening, and being outdoors, especially by the river. Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milan.

Survivors include her son Lanny McCorkle; grandchildren, Cassandra Bernauer, Doreen VonMaur, and Mitchell McCorkle; nineteen great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer "Bud" McCorkle; parents; sister Mildred Newton; brother Clifford Darwin Sr.; great grandson George Bernauer III; and great-great grandson Louis Hill III.
