Douglas "Doug" E. Allen, 82, of Rock Island, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Rock Island Moose Lodge. Memorials may be left in care of the Los Angeles Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter's Fund. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Doug was born on January 11, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, a son of Carl T. and Mona M. (Caylor) Allen. He served in the United States Navy from 1959-1961. Doug married Stephanie "Stevi" Rade on July 23, 1981, in Panama City Beach, Florida. He worked for the Los Angeles City Fire Department for 20 years, before retiring as a captain. He then went on to work as a building inspector for Simi Valley in California. Doug and Stevi then moved to the Quad Cities, where he became a building inspector for the City of Rock Island before later retiring.

Doug's hobbies included racquetball, handball, and golfing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and keeping up with his grandkids.

Those left to cherish Doug's memory include his wife, Stevi; children, Carrie Robinson, Jodi (Tom) Cavanaugh, Brent (Stephanie) Wimmer, Doug Jr. (Amber) Allen, and Jayson (Erin) Wimmer; grandchildren, Ciara Cavanaugh, Michael Robinson, Timothy Cavanaugh, Kylie Wimmer, Matthew Allen, Cole Wimmer, Sean Wimmer, Christopher Wimmer, Lucas Wimmer, Emery Allen, and Brooklyn Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
