Obituary

Douglas N. Lindy, 63, of Moline passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home.  Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E. in Milan.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Doug was born on December 11, 1952 in Rock Island, a son of Carl and Marlene Willhite Lindy.  Doug was raised by his grandparents, June and Mary Willhite, and his aunt, Jenise Sulouff.  He was a Black Hawk College graduate and had a career as a salesman throughout the Quad Cities area.  He had worked at the Argus/Dispatch, Sears Manufacturing and for several car dealerships.  He married Linda Armstrong on May 17, 1975 and he later married Darcey Stewart on June 3, 1995.  Doug was a musician who loved to sing and play Alto Saxophone.  He played in many local bands over the years. He was a lifelong White Sox and Bears fan and he was thrilled when the White Sox won the World Series.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Stacey (Ian) Happ, Rock Island and Jacob (Melinda) Lindy, Moline;  grandchildren, Abram Lindy, Alex McDaniel, and Rowen and Holden Happ; brother, Terry (Sheri)Boozan, Sherrard, special cousin, R. Kent (Marilyn) Sulouff, Rock Island, special friend, Linda Lindy, Rock Island and an aunt, Jenise Sulouff, Moline

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother, Tommy Boozan, and grandsons, Soren and Nolan Happ.
